Five friends Danica (Madelyn Cline), Ava (Chase Sui Wonders), Milo (Jonah Hauer-King), Teddy (Tyriq Withers), and Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon) accidentally have a fatal crash and try to cover it up. A year later, they are haunted by a mysterious killer who seems to know their dark secret, mimicking the methods of the legendary Southport murderer. Realizing the pattern, they seek help from two survivors of the Southport massacre, Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.), who endured a similar nightmare years before.
