Good Fortune
Gabriel (Keanu Reeves), a kind-hearted angel, is tasked with protecting reckless drivers who text while driving. During his duties, he meets Arj (Aziz Ansari), a struggling freelancer who can’t seem to catch a break. Feeling pity for him, Gabriel grants Arj a vision of his mundane future. Convinced that wealth is the key to happiness, Arj wishes for a life of luxury but Gabriel shows him that money cannot buy joy. To teach him a lesson, Gabriel swaps Arj’s body with that of Jeff (Seth Rogen), a wealthy investor. However, the plan backfires when Arj enjoys his new life so much that he refuses to return.
As punishment for interfering with fate, Gabriel loses his wings and is banished to live as a human. He later crosses paths with Jeff, now stripped of his wealth, and together they devise a plan to convince Arj to restore their original lives. Good Fortune marks the directorial debut of actor Aziz Ansari, who also serves as the film’s writer and lead actor, combining heartwarming humor with a reflection on gratitude and destiny. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified this film for audiences aged 13 and above.
