Gohan
A stray white puppy named Kori meets Hiro (Kitachima Yasushi), a Japanese employee nearing retirement who works in Thailand. Hiro gives the puppy the name Gohan, which means “white rice” in Japanese. However, Hiro passes away during the COVID-19 pandemic. As Gohan grows into adolescence (Meechok) and later old age (Hima), he must face the harsh reality of returning to life as a stray dog and overcoming various challenges along the way.
Telling the story of friendship between a dog and a human through three stages of life portrayed by three different dogs, Gohan is not the first emotionally driven production from GDH. Previously, the company produced How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (2024), directed by Pat Boonnitipat, which received several awards. The Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) has classified Gohan for audiences of all ages (SU). (eka)
