Dan Bi (Park Ji Hyun), a newly recruited government employee, works on a youth protection team responsible for monitoring illegal adult content. At night, she pursues her dream of becoming a children’s story writer by entering various writing competitions. Meanwhile, Jung-seok (Choi Siwon), who is planning to resign from his job as an adult-content reviewer, changes his mind after Dan Bi joins the team. Dan Bi’s life takes an unexpected turn when she accidentally damages a classic car belonging to Hwang Chang Seop (Sung Dong Il), the CEO of an adult novel publishing company. Unable to afford the 100 million won repair bill on her modest salary, Dan Bi is forced to sign a contract to write 20 episodes of adult fiction for the company.

Forbidden Fairytale marks Park Ji Hyun’s first comedy film, with her performance supported by experienced actors such as Choi Siwon and Sung Dong Il. Before directing Forbidden Fairytale, Lee Jong Seok was known for the thriller The Negotiation (2018), which was well received for the performances of Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin. Featuring excerpts of adult films, adult humor, and the characters’ wild fantasies, Forbidden Fairytale has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) for audiences aged 21 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (ian)
