Jangan Panggil Mama Kafir
Fafat (Giorgino Abraham), the son of a religious teacher, falls in love with Maria (Michelle Ziudith), a non-Muslim woman. Despite numerous obstacles and disapproval, their love prevails, and they marry, later blessed with a daughter named Laila (Humaira Jahra). Tragedy strikes when Fafat dies in an accident, leaving Maria with his final request to raise Laila according to Islamic teachings. Determined to keep her promise, Maria learns to understand Islamic values while raising her daughter with love, compassion, and dignity amid judgment from those around her.
Produced by Maxima Pictures in collaboration with Rocket Studio Entertainment, Don’t Call Mom a Heretic is directed by Dyan Sunu Prastowo, who presents the story with heartfelt emotion and a brisk narrative pace.
