Alfa (Mikha Tambayong) and Darian (Kevin Ardilova) are newlyweds basking in the glow of married life. But their happiness is short-lived. Their young marriage quickly hits rocky ground, culminating in an emotional fallout that leads Darian to issue a talak an Islamic declaration of divorce against Alfa.

What follows is not just a story of heartbreak, but of resilience and longing. With the support of their families and a shared hope for reconciliation, Alfa and Darian are drawn into a string of surprising encounters, involving two mysterious figures—Zainun (Ibrahim Risyad) and Intan (Tissa Biani)—who each play a role in shaping their emotional journey.

This emotionally layered drama brings together two of Indonesia’s most respected filmmakers: Garin Nugroho and Benni Setiawan. Known for his poetic and socially reflective storytelling, Garin pens the narrative with a blend of drama, humor, and deeply human moments. His notable works include Ingin Menciummu Sekali Saja (2002), Opera Jawa (2006), and Memories of My Body (Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku, 2018). Meanwhile, director Benni Setiawan, whose previous hits include 3 Hati, Dua Dunia, Satu Cinta (2010), Masih Bukan Cinta Biasa (2011), and Toba Dreams (2015), brings a cinematic eye for emotional nuance and relationship dynamics.

Rated 17+ by the Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF), this film invites mature audiences to reflect on love, missteps, and second chances. Be Discerning in Selecting Content Suitable for Your Age . (mil)
