The Cat in the Hat (voiced by Bill Hader) is assigned a mission by the I.I.I.I. (Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration) to entertain two siblings, Gabby (Xochitl Gomez) and Sebastian (Tiago Martinez), who have recently moved into a new home and are struggling to adjust to life in a new city. However, because of his unpredictable behavior, the Cat in the Hat often carries out his assignments according to his own methods and preferences. As a result, his missions frequently become complicated and chaotic. This assignment to entertain Gabby and Sebastian is his final chance. If he fails and the mission ends in disaster, he will be expelled from the organization. Determined to succeed, the Cat in his signature red-and-white striped hat sets out to complete the mission as well as possible, although he continues to do things in his own distinctive way.

Based on Dr. Seuss's 1957 book of the same title, The Cat in the Hat was previously adapted into a live-action film in 2003. After 23 years, the story returns to the big screen in animated form. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified The Cat in the Hat as suitable for audiences of all ages (SU). (irf)
