BTS ARMY: Forever We Are Young
A documentary exploring the extraordinary stories of BTS’s fans, the “ARMY” who helped transform the South Korean group into a 21st-century global pop icon. From Seoul to Los Angeles, Texas to Mexico City, BTS ARMY can be found in every corner of the world. The film presents memorable moments from devoted supporters who have championed the group since 2013 and propelled BTS to international chart success. More than mere fandom, the documentary challenges the notion that BTS fans are just hysterical teenagers, portraying instead a cross-generational, culturally savvy global movement engaged with diverse social issues. ARMY is depicted as a symbol of hope, solidarity, strength, and unity.
Director Grace Lee, together with Patty Ahn, crafts this film to reveal the emotional dimension behind the BTS phenomenon. Grace Lee is a Peabody Award–winning documentary filmmaker known for The Grace Lee Project and American Revolutionary, as well as American Zombie, Janeane from Des Moines, and the Emmy-nominated PBS series. Patty Ahn is known for Kollaboration Star (2012) and Warrior Women (2018). Indonesia’s LSF classifies this musical documentary for audiences aged 13 and above. (aza)
