Bola Pinoama
La Nane (Husain Al Faruq), Wati (Kiandra Azkadina Romeeza Gani), and Tomi (El Razi Syahputra) are enjoying a carefree afternoon playing soccer until an unexpected kick changes everything. When La Nane strikes the ball a little too hard, it flies over a fence and lands in the yard of Uncle La Ompu (Rusdin Puu), the neighborhood for his stern mysterious ways.
The ball, however, isn’t just any ball it’s a treasured keepsake from Tomi’s late father. Desperate to retrieve it, the children muster the courage to get it back. But as La Nane approaches the yard, Uncle La Ompu suddenly shouts something in a language none of them understand. Panicked, the kids run off, vowing to return another day. What follows is an adventure filled with tension, curiosity, and lessons they never expected.
Bola Pinoama is more than just a children’s tale, it’s a cultural effort born from young filmmakers in Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi. Supported by the local Department of Education and Culture, the film serves a larger purpose to revive and preserve Wolio, the endangered language of the Wolio ethnic group, once spoken widely across the former Butonese Kingdom.
The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Bola Pinoama as suitable for all ages. With its mix of playful storytelling and cultural preservation, the film offers a heartwarming experience that educates as much as it entertains.(fen)
