Blades of The Guardian
Dao Ma (Wu Jing) is a legendary swordsman and former secret bodyguard who travels with his young nephew, Xiao Qi (Charles Ju). They live in isolation after Dao Ma flees from the Imperial Guard, leading to a relentless pursuit by Commander Di Ting (Nicholas Tse). As a former elite bodyguard, Dao Ma accepts a complex mission from tribal leader Mo (Tony Leung) to escort the most wanted fugitive, Zhi Shilang (Sun Yizhou), to Chang’an, the imperial capital. Among those seeking to capture Zhi Shilang is Imperial General Chang Guiren (Jet Li).
The film is adapted from the popular manhua Biao Ren (2015) by Xu Xianzhe and is directed by Yuen Woo Ping, a veteran filmmaker known for his iconic action choreography in films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016) and Master Z: Ip Man Legacy (2018). Featuring intense action sequences and scenes of violence, the film has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) for audiences aged 17 and above.
