Beware Boiuna
A group of doctors travels deep into the Amazon rainforest on a medical mission. Their presence in the remote region attracts the attention of the legendary giant creature known as “Boiuna,” an ancient serpent that awakens and targets anyone who enters its territory. As the threat draws closer, the members of the medical team must confront the danger and fight to survive the creature’s attacks.
American director Mike P. Nelson is known for horror and thriller films such as The Domestics (2018), Wrong Turn (2021), and V/H/S/85 (2025). Driven by his interest in monster films, Nelson took on the challenge of directing Beware Boiuna with the aim of presenting the story of a giant serpent in a more serious and suspenseful way. Production took place in Colombia, where the challenging jungle environment helped create a more realistic portrayal of the giant serpent. The result is a survival thriller that combines mythology, suspense, and the threat of a predator in the wilderness. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Beware Boiuna for audiences aged 13 and above. (aza)
