Babe Rojali (Opie Kumis), a gravedigger, lives in financial hardship with his wife, Leha (Hj. Elvy Sukaesih), and their three children. One night, during heavy rain, he is busy collecting water leaking through the roof of his house when a neighborhood security guard arrives and asks him to dig a grave at the request of the neighborhood chief. Reluctantly, Babe Rojali sets out with his younger brother, Abdul (Ali Gohom). While digging the grave, Babe Rojali prays to Allah and asks to become wealthy. His prayer seems to be answered when he discovers a lump of gold buried in the ground. From that moment on, Babe Rojali’s life changes completely.

The film marks Tyas Asko’s feature-film directorial debut with production house Black White Pictures. Known for directing commercial advertisements, Tyas Asko prominently incorporates Betawi culture into the film, along with elements of local wisdom from Madurese and Banyumas communities. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Banyak Anak Banyak Rezeki for audiences aged 13 and above. (tin)
