Assalamualaikum Beijing 2: Lost in Ningxia
Aisya (Yasmin Napper), along with Evy (Ria Ricis) and Viktor (Lolox), travels to China on a reporting assignment. For Aisya, the trip becomes a personal mission to reunite with her boyfriend, Arif (Emir Mahira), who is studying there. After finishing their work, Aisya, Evy, and Viktor decide to surprise Arif by visiting his apartment only to find he no longer lives there, and his phone is unreachable. Joined by Mo (Baskara Mahendra), Aisya embarks on a search across Ningxia to uncover Arif’s whereabouts.
Based on Asma Nadia’s novel of the same title, Assalamualaikum Beijing 2: Lost in Ningxia serves as a follow-up to Assalamualaikum Beijing (directed by Guntur Soeharjanto, 2012). Blending romance, faith, and determination against the backdrop of China’s Ningxia province, the film continues the heartfelt storytelling loyal audiences fall in love with. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified the film as suitable for audiences aged 13 plus. (tin)
