This documentary chronicles a full year in the life of Lalisa Manobal (Lisa), a member of the K-pop group BLACKPINK, as she strives to establish herself as an independent artist. Audiences are invited to explore Lisa's personal side through memories of her childhood in Thailand and her busy schedule throughout 2024–2025. The film highlights several major milestones, including the making of her album Alter Ego, preparations for her Coachella performance, and her acting debut in the HBO series The White Lotus. Through these experiences, the documentary reveals Lisa's hard work and resilience in facing public pressure while discovering her own musical style and establishing a new artistic identity.

The documentary has achieved remarkable recognition since its premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on 11 September 2026. Directed by Sue Kim, the film received widespread acclaim from international critics for its candid portrayal of Lisa's career transition throughout 2024 and early 2025. Its global theatrical release in October 2026 reportedly generated US$15 million during its opening weekend, with screenings expanding to more than 2,500 cinemas worldwide. These achievements further reinforce Lisa's significant influence as an Asian pop culture icon while demonstrating her successful transformation into an independent solo artist with global relevance. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Always Lalisa for audiences aged 13 and above. (arr)
