About Family
Ham Mu-ok (Kim Yun-seok), the owner of a legendary dumpling restaurant in his neighborhood, worries about the restaurant’s future in today’s digital era. Meanwhile, his only son, Ham Mun-seok (Lee Seung-gi), has left him to become a Buddhist monk. One day, two children arrive at his restaurant. A boy named Hong Min-guk (Kim Si-woo) and a girl named Hong Min-seon (Yoon Chae-na) claim to be Ham Mun-seok’s biological children. Ham Mu-ok is naturally taken by surprise and begins to imagine the happiness of finally having potential heirs to carry on his legacy.
Directed by Yang Woo-seok, the film explores the complexities of family dynamics and the struggle to overcome differences and bring a family together. Yang Woo-seok is one of South Korea’s acclaimed film directors. He has received several prestigious awards, including Best New Director at the 2014 Grand Bell Awards in South Korea for his film The Attorney (2013).
