Twenty-eight years after a deadly virus escaped from a medical research lab, the few remaining survivors continue to fight for their lives among the infected. Jamie (Aaron Taylor) leads his son Spike (Alfie Williams) into a forbidden forest overrun by zombies. During their journey, Spike brings along his mother, Isla (Jodie Comer), who suffers from memory loss, in search of Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes), believed to be hiding deep within the woods.
